Just a Quickie

Just a quickie to say that we made it to Houston. Arrived shortly after three this afternoon and got settled into our temporary apartment at Bala Woods. What a letdown that it isn't as mystical and spice-laden as we were lead to believe in the ad's description (see 9/11 post). The pool was even closed :-(

Tomorrow we will hit the house-hunting trail in hopes of finding a house we can offer on...by the end of the week. Well, maybe. Don't want to rush it, but we also don't want to spend Christmas in temporary housing. Oh, and in case you're wondering, Eli did supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and again succeeded in charming everyone on and off the plane. His fever broke by Friday morning (without any new teeth to show for it), and he is really in great spirits, little champion traveller that he is. Maybe we really can take him to Europe???!!!????

Funny airplane story: So, we are about to take off, and this man trots to the back of the plane (where we are sitting) and, pointing in the direction of the bathroom, asks the flight attendent if she minds if he goes for a quickie before take-off. She looks at him and says, "A quickie...yeah, sure, as long as you don't expect me to go with you."
